Confira10 carros que todo mundo deveria dirigir

You probably had the conversation around the dinner table over Christmas and New Year yourself - what are the best places to see or things to do? Those life goals everybody sets themselves.Well, why not extend that to cars? There have been some amazing four-wheeled machines created over the years, and here are 50 of the cars everyone with a driving licence should try and get behind the wheel off. Let’s try and rack up as many of these icons on our ‘driven’ list as we can in 2015.

VOLKSWAGEN GOLF GTI MK1

The VW Golf GTI has to be the archetypal hot hatchback - the Mk1 version created a whole new sector of the market with its slick looks, practical interior, strong refinement and, above all else, an incredible chassis. Which is why it’s a shoo-in for our top 50.

PEUGEOT 205 GTI

Like the Golf GTI, the Peugeot 205 GTI is considered to be one of the greatest hot hatches ever. Peppy engines, a squat stance and an engaging if sometimes alarming chassis (we’re talking lift-off oversteer that’d keep a WRC driver on their toes) cemented its place in the history books as one of the 50 cars you must drive.

Escolha o Turbo ou o GT3 se quiser decolar It’s a unique proposition in the sports car world, the Porsche 911. With an engine right at the back over the rear wheels, early cars’ dynamics were eyebrow-raising at best, heart attack inducing at worst. However, it’s still a wonderful experience to drive a classic example, as it is to thrash the incredibly well sorted modern versions today. Go Turbo or GT3 if you want a massive thrill.

CITROEN DS

The Citroen DS is a byword for luxury and style, with chic Parisian looks and some clever tech. A trick suspension system that didn’t use coil springs gave a magic carpet like ride, meaning it was the perfect car for ferrying around dignitaries. The sheer quirkiness means it was so much fun to drive, too.

FUSCA

Given the Beetle’s origins, it’s hard to believe it’s loved by so many people today. The car was built in response to a brief by Adolf Hitler to create a car for the people. The Beetle was that car. Featuring a rear-mounted, air-cooled engine (it went on to underpin some early Porsches) it has so much character, and with popularity boosted by films such as ‘Herbie’, it’s easy to see why it makes the top 50.

LAND ROVER DEFENDER

É mais ou menos por aí mesmo When you see a Defender you think reliability, ruggedness and go-anywhere ability. Such is the famous Land Rover’s depth of talent that it’s become something of an icon. To the point where it just has to be one of the 50 cars you drive before you shall drive no more.

FORD MUSTANG

Não é um carro, é um ícone e mudou para sempre o conceito de dirigir Celebrating its 50th birthday in 2014 and coming to the UK in right-hand drive form this year, the Ford Mustang didn’t just change the automotive world, it changed culture. Born in the post-war period of discovery, the Mustang represented freedom. And power. Lots of power.

CHEVROLET CORVETTE

Motor V8 e um chassi inigualável fazem deste modelo um carro obrigatório para quem ama dirigir Something the Chevrolet Corvette symbolised a year earlier than the Ford did. Still, both cars stood for the same thing, and drove similarly. Their evolutionary paths have followed a similar course, too - both are much better to drive today, but retain the old big V8 engine, rear-drive chassis recipe.

FERRARI F40

O modelo lançado em 1987 deve ser um dos mais clássicos de todos os tempos da montadora italiana, com motor V8, 478 cavalos e capacidade de chegar a mais de 300 km/h Arguably the most iconic Ferrari ever, the fat wedge of red redefined the supercar genre when it launched in 1987. A spiky, turbocharged V8 producing 478hp meant it was a genuine 200mph car.
